U2 in Berlin, 29.July 2001
We arrived the concert station around 11am, it was very hot weather and about 120 fans
were waiting already, we just take our place in the masses ;-) there and
sit down ...! unfortunate at 1pm it started to rain like crazy together
with a terrible thunderstorm which seems not to end and we all were
already afraid to see the gig fallen out because of the terrible weather,
as the concerts was an open air show. we all went wet, it was
terrible, I had nothing (!) dry on my body more, all my clothes were wet
and i felt the rainwater runing all over me ;-). around 6pm the doors were
open to run to the stage, it was like an wonder as in this moment the
weather had changed and the sun was back for good, I was so damn reliefed
;-)! about 22000 fans were coming and at 9pm finally the real gig started
with "elevation" ...lord it was so great as the edge,
Larry, Adam and bono came on stage of course I just was damn happy and got
out of control for a while ;-)))! there was a "heart" way from the
stage in the masses where the guys could walk over, so everybody could see
the band very close. how exciting ;-)))! BONO is such a small man I always
thought he would be more taller ;-) anyway he made a very rocky
performance, just like we all know from their videos. the edge often
joined him with
his
guitar and for me the two are like Dave and Mart ;-).

...about 2 hours long been the show and
I was highly impressed by the band!
